FACTORS IMPACTING THE IMMUNIZATION IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS IN MARSABIT COUNTY'S SAKU CONSTITUENCY.

Abstract

This study looked into the variables influencing the immunization program in Kenya's Saku Constituency in Marsabit County. It was done in the four local government area regions (north, south, east, and west). To gather the data, the study used a cross-sectional study and an administered semi-structured interview questionnaire. Mothers and other caregivers of children ages 0 to 5 made up the study's population. Interviews were conducted with 400 moms and children under the age of five. According to the study, vaccination has a number of advantages, such as helping children grow up healthy and strong and reducing disease and death. Additionally, medication difficulties (unavailability), poor road/transport conditions, a baby or mother's poor health, and a busy schedule were the primary causes of each missed vaccine shot. The kid immunization rate in Saku is still unsatisfactory despite the fact that childhood immunizations are offered without cost and with increasing awareness. The study suggested that mothers' empowerment via education is necessary since it has been found to be a predictor of full vaccine uptake.
