Document review shows that SMEs are generally owned by owners, and often lack the necessary skills in financial management and financial management. Researchers used descriptive research formats. Population is based on 100 departmental staff from Alpha Grain Millers. The researcher obtained sample size using the Saunders formula to achieve a sample size of 80 respondents. The process of random sampling is used because the population is unequal and can be divided into groups or a line. Questionnaires used to collect information from respondents. The data collected was fully organized and considered for completeness and comprehension. Organized data is summarized and coded for easy classification to facilitate calculation. Analytical data is displayed using graphs such as pie charts, bar graphs and tables. The findings show that the Payment System takes a optimistic effect on monetary performance of Alpha Grain Millers Limited. The results show that data management system practices have a moderate impact on the financial performance of Alpha Grain Millers Limited. The study found that Cash Ledger System had a negative impact on the financial performance of Alpha Grain Millers Limited. The study concluded that there is a strong correlation between financial performance factors, such as Payroll System, Data Management System and Cash Ledger System at Alpha Grain Millers Limited. The study suggests that the adoption of computerized accounting information systems is recommended for all businesses to be able to report and manage the overall reporting record, as a business with a system shows an increase in investment other than that of the hand. This is necessary because there will be less human intervention in the compilation of records and reports, which will reduce discrimination and thus ensure the integrity and credibility of the report. Efficiency will be achieved through timely information processing, bulk processing and cost reduction which also improves performance.Item EFFECTS OF ONLINE MARKETING, COMPUTER USAGE AND MOBILE MONEY ON SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES IN NAIROBI(management university of africa, 2021-06) MARY EVELYN ACHIENG OTUMBAThe purpose of this research is to examine the effects of online marketing, computer usage and mobile money on a Small and Medium Enterprises in Nairobi. The study will be carried in Nairobi. The study will establish how types of computers influence small and medium businesses in Nairobi County, by finding out how the use of computers benefits the Small and Medium Enterprises. The descriptive survey design will be used to carry out this study. These enterprises consist of businesses that have been operational; each enterprise having engaged 10 or more employees to manage the day-to-day operations of the business. The estimated total population of business in Nairobi County is 1600. The study employed in the design of this research was descriptive correlation survey technique where a sample of 81 respondents will be picked. The study will rely on primary data sources and secondary data. Primary data will be collected using questionnaires. Descriptive statistics will be used to analyze the data. The findings have revealed that online marketing, computer usage and mobile money has a positive influence towards Small and Medium Enterprises in Nairobi. In conclusion, it should be noted that the differences studied were significant, and therefore moderation is important for the assessment. One way they try to achieve this goal is by implementing technological innovations. This paper explored technological innovations in a sample of HM drawn from the Serena Hotel , Nairobi, Kenya. Chi-square test was used to test the relationship between characteristics of HM and the implementation of technological innovations. The Spearman’s rho was used for robustness checks. The findings revealed that computer based technology is the most widely adopted technology followed by telephone, counting machine, internet, satellite, fax machine, and Hotel robot waiters in that order. The study found the implementation of these technological innovations to be significantly related to factors such as board size, number of males in board, board tenure, frequency of board meeting, size of workforce, number of employees with tertiary education, investment in R&D, number of branches or outlets, and sources of funding. According to the HM, hotel policy, competition, regulatory and legal environment, infrastructure and firm specific factors such as client exit rate, human resource capacity and distributional challenges affect their innovative behavior. A key recommendation flowing out of the study is that, much as the implementation of technological innovation is good, it must be done with caution. Many government institutions and also the public service are not left behind in adopting technology in order to offer various services to its citizens. The Nairobi County government started using an e-payment service called e-Jiji pay to improve on its service delivery where the users can directly interact with the system. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the influence of emerging technologies on service delivery in government institutions. The study utilized four specific objectives which included: assessing the influence of technological infrastructure, ascertaining the influence of training capacity, finding out the influence of policy framework and determining the influence of resource allocation on the delivery of Nairobi County’s e-Jiji pay. The study was guided by two theories: Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and Unified Theory of Acceptance. The study used a descriptive survey design to look into the relationship between the independent variables and also the dependent variables. The design helps the researcher to obtain information concerning the current status of the problem under study and describe it with respect to its variables. The target population was 1445 employees of Nairobi County, and these comprised of administrators, accountants, revenue collectors, car park attendants as well as market and licensing officers. The study adopted stratified random sampling procedure to identify specific groups from which data was collected. Simple random sampling procedure was then used to select respondents for data collection from the various strata. A sample size of 212 respondents was utilized for this study in data collection. Quantitative data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics. Correlation examination, regression analysis was applied to reveal the relationship between the independent and the dependent variable. The study recommended that institutions should invest more in emerging technologies to improve existing service delivery; there should continuous creation of training capacities and workshops for enhancement of skills. Policies of technology adoption should be improved to attract adoption of the everyday changing technology and Nairobi County in conjunction with the national government and other counties must ensure that there is increased funding on resource acquisition which enables acquisition and use of emerging technologies in Nairobi County.
