Item A RESEARCH PROJECT TO FIND OUT THE EFFECTS OF TEENAGE PREGNANCY ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AMONG SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS: A CASE STUDY OF MARSABIT COUNTY, KENYA(management university of africa, 2022-11) ARBE ADANOPregnancy in young females between the ages of thirteen and nineteen is referred to as a teen pregnancy. In today's globe, teen pregnancy is common among most secondary school students in poor countries. Pregnancy in young females between the ages of thirteen and nineteen is referred to as a teen pregnancy. Teenage pregnancy is now common among students in most secondary schools in underdeveloped countries around the world. The goal of this study was to see how adolescent pregnancy affected secondary school students' school achievement. The research was limited to Marsabit County, Kenya. Considering the explanation of the problem, it has been observed in Kenya for more than years that teenage pregnancies have spread to junior high school students due to various factors that adversely affect affected teens. Panday et al. (2015) found that teenage mothers are very unlikely to succeed in high school, given that after pregnancy they will be held more responsible for raising their newborns. The purpose of this study was to determine whether poor physical and mental health, poor self-esteem, and social isolation due to teenage pregnancy affect junior high school performance. This survey relates to parents of secondary schools in Marsabit County, the Kenyan government, and teenagers in high schools and high schools. The descriptive research design was used throughout the research. The target population consisted of 266 employees, and a sample of 80 employees was sampled using a stratified random sampling technique. Researchers used questionnaires as a means of research. The survey was conducted using the latter drop-and-pick method. The data collected was qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed and presented using tables, figures, and figures. From the results of the survey, most of the respondents who participated in the survey said that 81% of the respondents said that the pregnancy of teens had a physical and psychological effect on the academic performance of junior high school students. 19% therefore, the physical and psychological effects of teenage pregnancy do not affect the academic performance of junior high school students. Based on the respondents' responses, the majority of respondents (95%) said that the decrease in self-esteem due to teenage pregnancy affects the academic performance of secondary school students, considering the decrease in self-esteem due to teenage pregnancy. did. Respondents who participated in the study showed that the loss of self-esteem due to teenage pregnancy did not affect academic performance in secondary high school students. The majority of respondents (88%) show that social isolation from teenage pregnancies affects academic performance in junior high school students, and 12% of the total number of respondents who participated in the survey were from teenage pregnancy. I&M Bank were selected because the employees were not so much interested with the organization productivity neither did the employees do anything that would have helped in increasing the organization profits. There is a widespread belief that productivity improvements can only be achieved through a fundamental reform in the area of employee relations. Therefore, it's worthwhile to study the Problem of the impact of employee relations on organizational productivity in a broader sense. This mainly deals with the impact of employee relations on organization productivity by Identifying and understanding the relationship between the independent variables of key indicators of organizational productivity. Responses gathered from the staff were analyzed to bring out findings, conclusions and recommendations for this study. In relation to this study, the descriptive design research was chosen as the appropriate one. Data was gathered from both primary and secondary sources of information. Data was collected by use of questionnaires and reliability of research instruments was tested using test-retest technique and validated by experts in the academic research. Stratified random sampling and simple random sampling was used to collect the sample size of 28 respondents. The data was analyzed and collected by descriptive statistics; simple frequencies and percentages. From the research findings it was concluded that there is a strong positive relationship between the independent and dependent variable which indicate a greater impact from employee relations towards the overall productivity. The study was guided by the following specific objectives: To determine the effects of Collaboration management on the performance of Kenya Ports Authority, to establish the effects of Mediation on the performance of Kenya Ports Authority and to determine the effects of negotiation on the performance of Kenya Ports Authority. The literature review indicated that’s that 65 percent of performance problems result from conflict managements between employees, results to huge expenses in the organizations. However, he states that resolved office conflict signifies the largest decreased cost in many businesses, yet it remains largely recognized. This study used descriptive research design. The target population of this study consisted of selected departments of Kenya Port Authority and the numbers of staff were 140. The researcher used 30% of the target population to obtain a sample size of 23 respondents. In the collection of data both primary and secondary data collection were adopted. The researcher administered questionnaires to employees who were selected using the convenient sampling technique. The secondary data was gathered from reading books, journals that contain information that is related to analysis of conflict management in relation to organizational performance of Kenya Ports Authority. The qualitative data from secondary sources was analyzed using content analysis and logical analysis techniques. The techniques of analysis and interpreting data such as: Tabulation, Bar graphs, Pie charts and percentage was used to present the findings. The findings of the study revealed that collaboration management influenced Kenya Ports Authority Organizational performance positively. The study concluded that there was a strong positive relationship between Collaboration management, Mediation and Negotiation practices on Organizational performance in Kenya Ports Authority. Consequently, this poses a serious challenge to health programming. There are predictions that NCDs will continue to rise in the coming years resulting to at least 9 million deaths every year. This death rate would occur among people who are below 60 years of age in sub-Saharan Africa. NCDs are associated with some underlying risk factors of which most of them can be tackled through clear policy intervention. The specific objectives of the study sought to determine the impact of nutrition education, frequent physical activities, and level of awareness on prevention of chronic lifestyle diseases in Moyale Sub-County Hospital. A descriptive research design was adopted. The population of study includes 160 staffs of Moyale Sub-County Hospital where a sample of 64 individuals was selected using a Stratified random sampling. A CASE STUDY OF SHONA EPZ LIMITED IN KENYA.(management university of africa, 2022-12) XARILA MUINDI ABURILIThis is a study of the rapidly fashion business in Nairobi County, which has developed considerably but is influenced by the following strategic factors: government policy, financial availability, and competitiveness, thus the research. The overall goal of this research was to investigate the constraints impacting the growth of the fashion sector in Kenya, using Shona EPZ Limited as a case study. The study's specific objectives are to determine the impact of government policies on the growth of the Kenyan fashion industry, to determine the impact of financial access on the growth of the Kenyan fashion industry, and to determine the impact of competition on the growth of the Kenyan fashion industry. The study employed a descriptive research approach. The target group consisted of 50 workers of Shona EPZ Limited. For this investigation, a proportionate census approach was adopted. Questionnaires were employed as the major data gathering instrument. Before the questionnaire is evaluated and delivered to the selected sample, a pilot test was done with a few responders. The data acquired in this study was analyzed using descriptive statistics in SPSS for Windows to provide easy summaries in the form of tables and figures, as well as to investigate correlations between replies to various questions. This study’s findings showed that majority of the fashion houses do not easily access financial help because of the barriers encountered in accessing the funds from financial organizations. The study showed that there is a substantial relationship between competition and the growth of the fashion business. This study concluded that the policies put in place by government do not favor the fashion business. The study similarly concluded that businesses operating in the fashion industry are aware of the financial funding benefits but the necessities of accessing it are the major barriers deterring them to access funding from financial organizations. The major challenge been the high interests charged, loan securities and credit limits. The study concludes that fashion businesses are fully aware of the imminent competition in the industry as well as their causes and they have resorted to improvement their brand visibility by attending seminars and also promoting their brands on social media platforms. The study recommended an increase in creativity for the fashion businesses to stand out as a brand by creating unique apparel and to patenting their ideas to avoid stealing of their ideas. As for fair competition it recommended for government restrictions on imports to avoid counterfeit smuggled apparel in the country.Item CHALLENGES FACING MANAGEMENT OF PENSION SCHEMES IN STATE CORPORATIONS IN KENYA: A CASE STUDY OF THE KENYA PORTS AUTHORITY PENSION SCHEME.(management university of africa, 2024-01) MAGETO CAROLYNE.A pension scheme serves as a tax-efficient retirement savings plan, offering individuals the opportunity to save during their working years and receive income upon retirement. Unfortunately, issues of misappropriation and mismanagement have been observed in various pension schemes, including the Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme. This research focuses on exploring the challenges encountered in the management of pension schemes, specifically delving into the Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme and its workforce of twenty employees. The research employs a survey method to scrutinize aspects such as management structures, investment decisions, adherence to government policies, and responses to economic volatility, all crucial for the effective operation of the pension scheme. Both qualitative and quantitative data was gathered using questionnaires, interview schedules, and document analysis. The outcomes and recommendations derived from this study aim to contribute significantly to the enhancement of management structures and the formulation of well-informed decisions. Additionally, the research seeks to understand the challenges faced by formal pension schemes, like the Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme, in adapting to the socio-economic characteristics of informal workers. It also aims to evaluate the financial sustainability of social security schemes in Kenya, with a specific focus on the hurdles encountered by pension systems. Furthermore, the study explores the potential for pension schemes to facilitate access to affordable housing, highlighting the Kenya Ports Authority Pension Scheme's pioneering role in this domain. A case study of Kisii University. The specific objectives of the study, to find out the correlation between forms of social media use and level of depression among university students in Kisii County, to examine the correlation between frequency of social media use and level of depression among university students in Kisii County and to investigate the correlation between functions of social media use and level of depression among university students in Kisii County. For this study, a descriptive research approach was adopted. 14,000 students enrolled in courses at Kisii University's main campus located in Kisii County were the focus of this investigation. The number of samples was determined by taking 10 per cent out of which 100 respondents were obtained. The tools for gathering data were questionnaires. Prior to the inquiry, a trial investigation was conducted to test the survey's accuracy. Quantitative statistics was classified and statistical descriptions, such as tables with frequencies and percentages, were used to better explain the information, while qualitative statistics was scrutinized to determine the responses from respondents that are relevant to the research topic. The data was analyzed using the SPSS to produce the tables and figures. The investigation found a connection between the use of social media platforms, frequency of social media uses as well as functions of social media use and depression levels. The outcomes of this investigation recommend that college students should track how long they use on the internet and media and on their own project. The study suggests that students should seek out amusement outside of social media, create offline academic groups, and communicate one-on-one with them friends. Inventory control operations entails the methods that companies use to organize, store, and replace inventory, to keep an adequate supply of goods at the same time minimizing cost. The objectives of the study were; to find out how product development affect inventory control operation, to establish the extent at which lead time affects inventory control operation, to determine how technology affects inventory control operation and then to assess the effects of inventory shrinkage inventory control operation at Milly Glass Limited. The study will adopt a descriptive design where a quantitative research method will be used to ensure establishment of correlations and cause effect relationship that is important in viability of the constructs. The target population of the study will be 180 employees of Milly Glass Limited where a sample of 54 respondents will be obtained. The data collections instrument for the study will be questionnaire to acquire the data from the respondents. The study will be piloted to ensure the validity and reliability of the research instrument for a credible study. The study was guided by the following key objectives to establish the effects of Cost Estimation on performance of Kenya Ports Authority, to establish the effects of Needs Assessment on performance of Kenya Port Authority and to establish the effects specifications planning on performance of Kenya Ports Authority. The study highlighted Theoretical literature review on procurement planning practices under the following topics; Institutional Theory, Resource-Based Theory and Linear Policy Theory. This study used an explanatory research design. Employees who were chosen using the purposive sampling technique were given questionnaires. The study's target population consisted of roughly 200 Kenya Ports Authority departmental workers. This study's data was obtained from both primary and secondary sources. The secondary data was collected from the organization's Human Resource Management review reports. Employee surveys were used to collect primary data. The research aimed for a sample size of 60 participants out of a total of 200. Data was gathered in both quantitative and qualitative methods. Secondary source qualitative data was analyzed using content analysis and logical analysis methods.
